Answer:

Mason changes from feeling anxious to feeling terrified when he is asked to sing Alex's song in the second half of the show. This is because he wasn't expecting to have a solo performance, and the sudden responsibility of singing someone else's song in front of a big audience makes him feel overwhelmed and scared. Despite knowing the song well, the pressure of performing it well and living up to expectations causes him to feel terrified rather than just anxious.
