b. most challenging?
c. most dangerous?
2. Have you ever tried any of the adventure activities in exercise 1? If so, did you enjoy them? If not, would you like to try them?
Answer:
Partner 1: Hey there! Let's discuss the questions.
Partner 2: Sure, sounds good. Which question do you want to start with?
Partner 1: Let's start with the first one. Which of the activities in the photos looks the most fun to you?
Partner 2: I would say kayaking looks the most fun to me. I love being on the water and feeling the breeze on my face.
Partner 1: That's a good choice. Personally, I think karting looks the most fun. I love the adrenaline rush of going fast and the thrill of competition.
Partner 2: Yeah, I can see how that would be exciting. What about the second question? Which activity looks the most challenging?
Partner 1: I think climbing looks the most challenging. It requires a lot of physical strength and mental focus to scale a rock face.
Partner 2: I agree with you on that one. Climbing can be very difficult and requires a lot of skill and practice.
Partner 1: And what about the third question? Which activity looks the most dangerous?
Partner 2: I think hiking can be the most dangerous because of the potential for getting lost or injured in the wilderness.
Partner 1: That's a good point. I would say kayaking can also be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing or if the water conditions are rough.
Partner 2: Yes, that's true. Finally, have you ever tried any of these adventure activities?
Partner 1: Yes, I've tried hiking and kayaking. I enjoyed both of them, but I prefer kayaking because I feel more connected to the water.
Partner 2: I've tried kayaking too, and I loved it. It was such a peaceful and calming experience being out on the water.
Partner 1: That's great to hear. I haven't tried the other activities yet, but I would love to try karting someday. It looks like a lot of fun.
Partner 2: Same here. I think it would be an exciting and thrilling experience.

5. Work in pairs. Prepare to do the task in exercise 3.
(Làm việc theo cặp. Chuẩn bị làm bài tập 3)
* Choose three activities that you would like to do using the list in exercise 1 or your own ideas. Make sure you and your partner choose different activities.
* Make notes about:
a. why you want to do the activities you have chosen.
b. why you do not want to do the activities your partner has chosen.
Answer:
Activity 1: Kayaking
a. Why I want to do it: I love being out on the water and kayaking is a great way to explore new places and get some exercise at the same time. It's also a peaceful and relaxing activity that allows me to connect with nature.
b. Why I wouldn't want to do my partner's activity (climbing): I'm not a big fan of heights and I'm a bit scared of falling, so I think climbing would be too challenging and scary for me.
Activity 2: Hiking
a. Why I want to do it: I love being outdoors and hiking is a great way to explore new trails and see some amazing views. It's also a good workout and can be very rewarding to reach the top of a mountain or a lookout point.
b. Why I wouldn't want to do my partner's activity (karting): I'm not a big fan of fast and high-risk activities, so I think karting would be too scary and intense for me. Plus, I get motion sickness easily, so it might not be a good fit.
Activity 3: Climbing
a. Why I want to do it: I love challenging myself physically and mentally, and climbing seems like a great way to do that. It's also a good workout and can be very rewarding to reach the top of a climb. Plus, I enjoy being outdoors and exploring new climbing routes.
b. Why I wouldn't want to do my partner's activity (bungee jumping): I think bungee jumping would be too extreme and risky for me. The thought of jumping off a high platform and free-falling would be too scary for me to enjoy. Plus, I prefer activities that involve more physical exertion and skill.
6. SPEAKING Work in pairs. Do the task in exercise 3 using your notes and the phrases in exercise 4 to help you.
(Làm việc theo cặp. Thực hiện nhiệm vụ trong bài tập 3 bằng cách sử dụng các ghi chú của bạn và các cụm từ trong bài tập 4 để giúp bạn)
Answer:
Partner: Hey, so what adventure activity do you want to do?
You: I have three ideas: kayaking, hiking, and climbing. Which one do you prefer?
Partner: I quite fancy kayaking. It's been a while since I've been out on the water.
You: I like the idea of kayaking too. It's a peaceful and relaxing activity. But what about hiking or climbing?
Partner: I'm not too keen on climbing. The idea of falling is too scary for me. And I think hiking would be a bit too tiring for a day out.
You: That's fair. I think hiking would be a good workout though. But I do agree that kayaking would be a more relaxing option.
Partner: I don't think bungee jumping would be a good idea. It's too extreme and risky for me.
You: Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't want to do that either.
Partner: So, can we agree on kayaking then?
You: Sure, I agree. That's settled then.
